Nick asked me to make him a cream colored knit scarf to keep him toasty warm when he's out riding his motorcycle. He wanted an aviator/cafe racer look. The result is this soft, fluffy knitted scarf.
Yarn: Bernat, Roving, Rice Paper (2 skeins for scarf body and extra for fringe, about 1/4 skein)
Loom: 24 pegs
Stitches used: E-wrap knit
Scarf Body:
E-wrap all 24 pegs, e-wrap peg 24 twice and wrap all pegs in the opposite direction (do not join the round, this will knit a flat panel instead of a tube). Knit off all pegs. Continue to e-wrap and knit off, alternating directions until desired length is reached.
To Finish: Move loop from peg 2 to peg 1 and knit off. Move loop back to peg 2. Move loop from peg 3 to peg 2 and knit off. Move loop back to peg 3. Continue until you have only one loop left. I knot the tail of my working yarn to finish. I used 2 whole skeins of yarn for the scarf body.
Fringe: I cut lengths of yarn about 14 inches long. To attach I doubled them and then doubled it again. I threaded the center through the scarf (between stitches) and then threaded the ends through the loop and pulled it tight.
