Here's 2 more hats I recently finished. These are similar to the One Love Summer hats I made. I experimented with different patterns and finishing techniques.
Black 5+1 Spiral Open Weave Loom Knit Hat
This hat is basically the same pattern as the Pearls 5+1 Spiral hat I made a little bit ago.
Yarn: 2 skeins Red Heart Super Saver Black
Loom: 41 Pegs (any loom with multiples of 5+1 pegs would work, so you could do this pattern on a 36 peg loom too if you don't want a slouchy beanie)
Stitches used: E-wrap knit, purl, yarn over
Brim: Use 2 skeins together as one.
Row 1-8: Knit one peg, purl one peg all around loom, knit last peg
Hat Body: Cut off one skein of yarn and weave in end, knit the rest of the hat with only 1 strand of yarn.
Row 1: Knit 5, move the loop from peg 4 to peg 5 (yarn over) and knit again. Repeat for the rest of the pegs
Row 2-45: Because you are knitting on a 5+1 loom, you will end the pattern one over on the next row, this creates the spiral pattern. For all the remaining rows you will do the same pattern, you will notice that there is no loop on peg 5 because in the previous row it was peg 4 and you moved it over. This makes this pattern super easy to keep track of. You don't even really have to count! Love it!
Row 46: E-wrap all pegs, knit off all pegs with 2 loops.
Row 47: E-wrap all pegs, knit off all pegs.
To finish:
Decrease by moving the loop on peg 1 to peg 2, the loop on peg 3 to peg 4 and so on all the way around the loom. I finished with a simple gather.
